William Nicholson: The Borgue Piper and Poet

Friday October 19th : 7.30pm

With pipers Jock Agnew and David Hannay, and readings by Mike Duguid.

William Nicholson (1782–1849) was born in Borgue. He was also known variously as "The Bard of Galloway" and the itinerant singer "Wandering Wull". His best writing makes distinctive use of his native Scots language and many of his works are in the form of song. He is probably best remembered today for "The Brownie of Blednoch".
