Fresh from his gig at The Wickerman, Peter Kelly of Beerjacket was our August Mill Session. Beerjacket is the musical title of Glasgow alt-folk singer-songwriter, Peter Kelly. At this very special show, The White Feather Trail was played in its entirety with Stuart MacLeod, who recorded the album playing all the 'guest' instruments (including ukulele, mandolin and baritone guitar...) and Julia Doogan of Julia and the Doogans.
Beerjacket is the musical title of Glasgow alt-folk singer-songwriter, Peter Kelly, whose influences include Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and Simon & Garfunkel. Regular comparisons have also been made to Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley and Bright Eyes. He has shared the stage with musicians such as The National, Kristin Hersh, Feist, Ron Sexsmith, St. Vincent, Frightened Rabbit, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan, Guillemots, Sons & Daughters, Joan As Police Woman and Tom Vek, amongst many others.
Recent dates have included appearances at T in the Park, Wickerman Festival and a headline show at King Tut’s Summer Nights.
November 2011 saw the debut Beerjacket television performance to an audience of half a million people live on BBC 2's The Review Show.
