The Garden Photography of Andrea Jones
Internationally renowned garden photographer, Andrea Jones (2008-9 Photographer of the Year) shows a varied selection of her work, emphasising 'the luminous time' in inspiring gardens, where she has taken images so successfully - in Britian and around the world.
Andrea Jones is one of the world’s foremost garden photographers, having built up an international reputation for her photographs of landscape architecture, gardens and plants. The latter was the subject of Andrea’s critically acclaimed first solo book ‘Plantworlds’ (2005). She has collaborated on numerous other book projects ‘The Great Gardens of America’ written by Tim Richardson and ‘Bold Plants’ and ‘Grasses and Bamboos’, both by Noel Kingsbury (1999). Gardens views and details were the subject of her most recently published solo book ‘The Garden Source’ (2011). Andrea is currently working with authors, Tony Kirkham and Noel Kingsbury on two new books projects both, in different ways, relating to trees.
Andrea’s collection of work forms the photo stock library Garden Exposures and appears in the international press including House & Garden, Gardens Illustrated, Country Living, The English Garden, Garden Design (USA), and The Daily Telegraph.
Based in Scotland, Andrea is a Fellow of the RSA and exhibits her work around the world having had several successful solo exhibitions in both the UK and US. As well as representational images of garden views and close up details of flowers Andrea enjoys working with abstractions of details in both organic and inorganic forms.
In 2008/9 she was voted Photographer of the Year by her peers in the UK’s Garden Media Guild.
